​Assigned Duties

The Tenure Branch applies Parts II and IIA of the Immovable Property (Tenure, Registration and Valuation) Law, Cap. 224, in regulating tenure of immovable property. Essentially it deals with matters relating to the rights & obligations of owners against each other and towards the state, as these originate from their capacity as owners or occupiers of immovable property. Namely, it regulates:


a) Right to registration

b) Division of land

c) Division of buildings (Buildings under joint ownership)

d) Option

e) Compulsory partition

f) Sale of immovable property held in undivided shares

g) Rights / Easements

h) General Registration – Incorporation of New Plans

i) Land Consolidation
