The Section is responsible for the development and updating of the Geographical Cadastral Database (G.C.B.D.) of the LIS. In this database, data resulting from the digitalisation of existing cadastral plans are recorded, processed, updated and merged together. The GCBD provides support for the other databases of the Land Information System (for example, for the display of the plot layout on the certificate of registration) and serves as a source of data for the re-survey project. In areas where it has not been replaced by the SBS, it constitutes the geographical background of the LIS, on which other organisations build their geo-information.
