The Department of Lands and Surveys operates seven offices throughout Cyprus. The Department’s Headquarters, located in Nicosia, accommodate the Director and the main administrative staff of all sectors. In addition, six District Lands Offices operate, one for each of the island’s six districts, with each office based in its respective district. An exception applies to the Keryneia and Ammochostos District Lands Offices, which are temporarily based in Nicosia and Paralimni, respectively, under special legislation. This arrangement exists because the records and archives of these offices remain in the possession of the occupying forces.
