DISPOSAL OF STATE LAND

Who can apply:
Any disposal of state land is subject to the Immovable Property (Tenure, Registration & Valuation) Law, Cap. 224 (Section 18) and to the Immovable Property of the Republic (Disposal) Regulations 173/1989. Under the provisions of such Law and Regulations, the Council of Ministers may dispose of, i.e. grant, lease, exchange or otherwise alienate any property of the Republic or vested in the Republic, to any person entitled thereto as well as to any corporation or local administration authority.
Required Documents / Conditions / Samples:
  • Application Form
  • A plan printed through “DLSPORTAL” (“Interactive Maps” Service) clearly indicating/focusing on the plot(s) in question, or any other plan the applicant has in his/her possession. Printing to scale is not necessary unless the applicant wishes to do so (this is indicated on the Title Deed) or any other. The plan should clearly indicate the requested adjustment, if there is no permission from the Competent Authority.
  • Photocopy of both sides of the applicant’s identity card or passport or ARC (for foreigner applicants)
  • Reference of applicant’s postal address and contact telephone number(s)
  • If the application is submitted by a Proxy, either through a General Power of Attorney (fee of €50.00 for depositing the General PoA) or through a Special Power of Attorney (no fee), the Power of Attorney must be placed in the special box outside the building of the District Lands Office. The Power of Attorney must be duly stamped and the signature thereon certified.

a) €50.00 Acceptance of the application
b) €10.00 For each plot involved
c) €100.00 For the valuation of each plot for which valuation is required
d) €2.00 For each official cadastral plan issued
