LAND CONSOLIDATION SECTION
It deals with the implementation of those provisions of the Consolidation and Reallocation of Agricultural Land Law, that concern the Department of Lands and Surveys, having as main activities:
(a) the preparation of the Property Ownership Catalogue, in accordance with the existing ownership status, for all areas under Land Consolidation. This is done following local enquiries and after the current actual owners are being indentified for each plot and the way that each plot was acquired, either by inheritance or adverse possession or registration, or following the enactment of certain provisions of the Law, Cap. 224 (e.g. trees);
(b) the coordination of work with the various Branches of the Department (Survey, Cartography, Registration, Valuation, Management of State Lands), and with the Land Consolidation Branch and other Departments, until the preparation of the finalised reallocation plan and the issue of permanent titles;
(c) the registration of the reallocation, i.e. the new plots resulting from the completion of a Land Consolidation Plan.
