RESURVEY SECTION

It carries out the necessary field and office work for the processing, analysis and preparation of new cadastral plans, as part of the systematic resurvey project. This Section is also responsible for the preparation and/or processing of cases in the areas under re-survey.

Re-survey Project

The systematic re-survey project has been relaunched since the second half of 2015. The re-survey is a tool and project which, when completed, shall upgrade the operations of the entire Department of Lands and Surveys and of all Departments and services that use land data, and shall enable these operations to be carried out with the required speed and accuracy. It is expected to bring the Department to operate a Land Register in which property boundaries are determined by coordinates.

The benefits of the re-survey project can be clearly seen in cases regarding the non-occupied Ammochostos, where new digital cadastral plans have been published for 96 of its 97 blocks.

To date, new plans have been adopted and 304 new blocks, corresponding to 146,700 plots, have been systematically re-surveyed in the Survey Database. There are 83 blocks in progress, at various stages of the process of adopting new plans, corresponding to approximately 26,075 plots.
