The Registration Sector is the Sector responsible for implementing and amending the legislation governing any form of immovable property, and for the registration of immovable property in the Department's Registers. The mission of the Sector is to modernise existing legislation governing immovable property, and to enact regulations and other laws relating to the promotion of the registration of immovable property, and the fastest possible processing of legal transactions involving immovable property. The Registration Sector has the responsibility of supervising the implementation of the legislation in the District Land Offices, and of implementing a uniform and consistent policy on all matters of the Sector. To this end, it issues circulars providing guidelines on how to handle cases covered by the legislation. Furthermore, Officers of the Sector periodically visit the District Land Offices of the Department, in order to inform and guide the personnel on the implementation of new amended legislation or circulars.
