The Tenure Sector is responsible for the modernisation of the immovable property tenure, with amendments to existing legislation and the introduction of new concepts for tenure and regulations relating to them. The main objectives and targets of the Tenure Sector are the modernization of the Immovable Property (Tenure, Registration and Valuation) Law Cap. 224, with regard to the partition of immovable property and the registration of jointly-owned buildings. Furthermore, it intends to simplify the procedures related to the application forms received by the Sector in order to reduce accumulated workloads and improve the services provided to the citizens. This Sector consists of the General Tenure, Land Consolidation, and General Registration and Incorporation of New Plans Sections.
